Femicide

Femicide is the murder of a woman solely because she is a woman, showing contempt for her feminine condition. It was included as a qualifying factor in the Penal Code's homicide crime in 2015 through Law n. 13.104/2015, and it may occur as a result of domestic and family violence or misogyny (contempt or discrimination against women).

The statistics for this crime are alarmingly increasing in all regions of Brazil. The best option is prevention. Identify the signs of an abusive relationship and report it.
